A declined payment is frustrating, but it's usually easily fixed. In most cases it's your bank's security check rather than anything wrong with your card or our site.
Try these first:
1. Complete your bank's verification. Most card payments need confirming through your banking app or with a code by text. If you missed the prompt or it timed out, the payment fails. Try again and keep an eye out for it.
2. Check your billing address. It needs to match exactly what your bank holds, including the postcode. This is one of the most common causes, particularly if you've moved recently.
3. Check your card details. Expiry date and security code are easy to mistype, and a card that's been replaced will have a new number even if the old one is still in your wallet app.
4. Contact your bank. Larger purchases sometimes trigger fraud protection automatically, especially with a retailer you haven't used before. A quick call or an approval in your banking app usually clears it.
5. Try a different payment method. Any of our other options may go straight through. See Which payment methods do you accept?
If you were declined for Klarna, Clearpay or Snap Finance, that's a separate decision made by them, not by us. They assess each application individually and we have no visibility of why. Being declined once doesn't mean you'll be declined next time, and it isn't a reflection on your order. You're welcome to pay another way.
Has money left your account despite the decline? This is usually a pending authorisation rather than a completed payment, and it normally disappears on its own within a few working days. If it doesn't, contact your bank, and get in touch with us so we can check whether an order was created.
Please don't keep retrying. Repeated attempts can trigger further blocks and occasionally leave multiple pending authorisations. If two attempts fail, it's better to call us on +44 1778 562809.
Still stuck? Call us on +44 1778 562809, Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00, and we can take payment over the phone or find another way forward. You can also email info@oliversbabycare.co.uk, and emails sent outside office hours are answered in order from Monday morning.
